It was Hansi Flick, the new coach, who asked Barcelona to make an offer for Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen.
According to SPORT, Barcelona has made an opening offer for Frimpong that is less than 50 million euros, which Transfermarkt says the player is worth on the market. That being said, this site confirms that Leverkusen might be open to switching players.
Because of Flick’s offer, Barcelona now seems to want Frimpong. The 59-year-old planner clearly knows a lot about German football. However, SPORT says that Barcelona may not be interested in signing anyone right now because they are having money problems, which could explain why they made such a low offer.
Frimpong joined Manchester City when he was nine years old, even though he was born in Amsterdam. He played for the club’s youth team for almost ten years. Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen team has been great for him as an attacking full-back since his big break at Celtic. He finished the 2023–2024 season with 14 goals and 12 assists, which helped the team win the Bundesliga.
