Giannis Antetokounmpo, his fiancée Mariah Riddlesprigger, and their sons Liam and Maverick participated in a community outreach event on Milwaukee’s southwest side this past Sunday, where they distributed essential items to local families in need. Giannis carried one of his sons on his shoulders while the other walked alongside him.
The Antetokounmpo family, along with dozens of volunteers, helped hand out diapers, wipes, and food at the Milwaukee Diaper Mission’s distribution event held at Hayat Pharmacy, located at 807 W. Layton Ave.
“We organized this event to support families with the essentials they need right before the holidays and to give back to the community,” said Meagan Johnson, co-founder of the Diaper Mission.
This event marked the conclusion of this year’s BIG Give Back, an annual diaper and fundraising drive organized by the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation to benefit the Milwaukee Diaper Mission.
“I feel blessed to provide my kids with meals, diapers, and everything they need,” Riddlesprigger, who is also on the board of MDM, shared with the Journal Sentinel. “I just want to help others do the same and ease their burdens.”
Various organizations, including Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, as well as local businesses like Culver’s, joined in the efforts on Sunday.
In total, 30,000 diapers and enough food and pain relief supplies for 300 households were distributed during the event.
