The regional media covered the NBA champion’s rafting trip on the Tara and Drina rivers in Foča this weekend.
This year, Jokić did not miss the opportunity to spend some free time rafting the “Tears of Europe” through Europe’s largest canyon.
He regularly visits the “DMD” rafting camp, located on the right bank of the Drina River at Bastasi near Foča, and he is also a fan of the peaks around Foča.
This camp and most of the Foča camps are located about four kilometers downstream of Šćepan Polje, where the Tara and Piva rivers join to form the Drina.
.
After the Tara meets the Piva, rafting continues along the Drina, usually to the camps in Bastasi and sometimes to Foča.
The right bank of the Tara River in the Republic of Srpska has only recently been protected, with the creation of the Tara Nature Park, instead of a national park with a higher level of protection.
From the Tara River, the border between BiH and Montenegro continues along the Maglić Mountain, so that on one side of the border there is the Sutjeska National Park and the Tara Nature Park, and on the other side there is the Durmitor National Park and the Piva Nature Park.
These four reserves are rare gems of nature and form a unique natural entity that, despite the international border, is often visited by tourists simultaneously.
